Sunny Stones of November

November’s birthstones, topaz and citrine, both come in sunny shades of yellow and orange. These sunny stones look so similar they are often mistaken for one another. Both stones are known for their calming energies, bringing warmth and fortune to those who wear them.

Citrine is derived from an old Latin word citrus which means “lemon”. It is the stone of light, life, and sun. For almost six thousand years, the Citrine has been highly regarded as a healing stone. In ancient times, this yellow orange stone was known to protect against snake venom and evil thoughts.

The Citrine is one of the most affordable and popular gems. It is known to help achieve inspiration and self-improvement, attracting prosperity and wealth. Sometimes called “ The Merchant Stone”, Citrine is known to increase cash and brings good fortune to businesses. Our Moringa and Purez Body Scrubs includes a Citrine Crystal which helps purify and reduce toxins.

Citrine is found all over the world including Africa, Britain, Brazil, France, Madagascar, Soviet Union, Spain, California, Colorado, and North Carolina. Brazil is the largest producer of Citrine. Citrine is attuned to the Archangels Ariel, Gabriel, and Uriel, which attract abundance and self esteem.

Topaz is the other natal stone of November. Ancient Romans and Egyptians believed this sunny golden gem was associated with the Sun God, which gave the wearer healing and protection. Topaz also comes in other colors besides shades of yellow. It is translucent and comes in blue, brown, black, orange, pink, yellow, and white. Topaz symbolizes the “ The Joy of Life” because it brings you joy, generosity, abundance and good health.

The history of Topaz links it to the planet, Jupiter, and brings the wearer gifts. In the Bible, Topaz is one of the protective stones of New Jerusalem. In the ancient Indian language, Topaz means Fire. The Greeks believed Topaz was derived from Topazios, an Ancient Greek name for St. John’s Island in the Red Sea. Topaz is also found in England’s Royal Crown, which is set in almost five hundred Topazes!

If you travel to New York today, you will find a display of the largest uncut Brazilian Topaz at the Museum of Natural History. It weighs almost 600 hundred pounds!

Topaz is produced in Germany, Japan, Pakistan, Russia, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, and California; but Brazil is again the largest producer of this stone. Topaz is attuned to the Archangel Michael, which attracts Love, Self Realization, and Wealth.

Happy Birthday to all of my November Babies: My Beloved Johnny Boy, Jennifer, Isabel, Marisol, Trisha, Debra, and John.
